BRITISH NO.5 JUNGLE CARBINE BAYONET AND SCABBARD

The British No. 5 Jungle Carbine bayonet is a distinctive, short, clip-point Bowie-style blade designed for close-quarters jungle fighting, featuring a single-edged, high-carbon steel blade (around 8 inches/200mm) with a fuller, wooden grips, and a circular lug fitting the No. 5 Rifle. Its steel scabbard, originally black, sometimes had a brass throat on later versions (MkII), and the whole assembly was made for quick maneuvering in dense terrain, also serving as a utility knife.
